HSE Advisor – Sierra Leone
Overview
An HSE Advisor is required by a leading International European business for a mining project in Sierra Leone, Africa.
Our Client
Our client is a large well known civils and mining business with head offices in the UK and across West Africa. They have projects across West Africa and these range from small to large scale on both mining operations works through to infrastructure construction to support the mines. They are well known in the industry and offer market leading rotations.
The role
The position available is an HSE Advisor role and will report into the Project Manager on site. The role will lead all HSE activity on the site offering specialist advice and experience on the project.
Responsibilities are likely to include:

Be fully conversant with the Project HSE Policies, Plans and Procedures

Monitor the implementation of the Project, HSE Plan and any other Client HSE documentation

Fully investigate HSE incidents and accidents, produce reports with corrective and preventative actions and controls.

Produce Monthly site HSE report for the employer and the clients as required.

Participate in Site Audits / Inspections in conjunction with the
Project and Client Audit and Inspection Programme

Participate in HSE meetings and liaise with the mining production supervision and plant workshop teams to ensure that they adhere to safe systems of work.
The ideal candidate will have:
– Experience working in Africa / overseas
– Experience working on mining or bulk earthmoving projects
– Stable employment history with large main contractors
– Happy to work in Africa on single status on rotation
– NEBOSH & IOSH certifications
– Excellent MS package skills.
The package
Our client is offering around £70-75k NET per annum plus housing, transport, flights and a 7 week on 2 week off rotation. The role is a single status positing and other benefits such as insurance, food etc will be provided.
